Hoosier Tires presents 14 races at six tracks in 2013 Civil War Series
-
ROSEVILLE, CA (2-13-13) - The 2013 season schedule for the Hoosier Racing Tires California Sprint Car Civil War Race Series has been officially slated by the office of Handy Racing Promotions Incorporated and each of the participating tracks in the series court. Presented by Hoosier Racing Tires West, this newest rendition of California's premier traveling body for winged 360 sprint cars is sure to be action packed with the best of west racing wheel to wheel and wing to wing throughout the golden state.

The 2013 Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Sprint Car Series will consist of 13 events at six of California's most competitive race tracks that have signed to partner with the Civil War Sprint Car Series to bring some of the most exciting wheel to wheel racing action to race fans from the Sierra Foothills to the North State and down to the California coastal range.

The Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Sprint Car Series is a unique championship campaign managed by Handy Racing Promotions in conjunction with those tracks participating in the series. Each of the tracks that host this competitive tour during the season agree that their 360 sprint car division will "go dark" on the dates in which the series participates at one of the tracks on the tour. This program format has proven successful over the last two decades and allows a driver to compete for the prestige of a championship title in a traveling campaign without forfeiting the same opportunities at his or her weekly track. At the same time the format produces impressive car counts for each race that pays a minimum of $2000 to the winner excluding bonus and additional contingency winnings.

The 2013 Hoosier Racing Tires Civil War Series will begin on Saturday, March 16 at Marysville Raceway Park. This much improved speedway brought the series back last season to the delight of area race fans. The tour will visit Marysville twice this year, returning on Saturday May 25 which is the prestigious Mel Hall Memorial race and part of a Memorial Weekend double header in conjunction with Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.

After a hiatus of several years, Antioch Speedway has agreed to host a Civil War event this year. The popular track near the California coastal range will host the tour on Saturday night, March 30. Nearby Petaluma Speedway will host three action packed events this year with the first being on Saturday, April 27 followed by return visits on Saturday July 6 and September 14th.

The dark clay of Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico will be attacked by the winged warriors on Sunday May 25th followed by an appearance on June 21. Silver Dollar Speedway will also hold a non-points event for the 360 sprint cars on Wednesday night, September 4th that will offer bonus winnings and and expanded roster prior to the Gold Cup weekend.

Placerville Speedway will be home to the Civil War on three occasions this year. The first visit will fall on Saturday, June 1 followed by a special event on Thursday, July 4 which will be the second annual "Tiner Racing Family Tribute" with increased winnings.

The Civil War Series will conclude at Placerville in grand fashion on Saturday, September 21 with the Annual Tribute to Al Hinds. Presented by Thompson's Auto Centers, this event features expanded winnings as well as all day festivities with a large car show and driver meet and greet at the nearby auto dealership that supports the track and several drivers annually.

For the first time in several years, the Civil War Series will return to the high speed Kings Speedway in Hanford. This event will be the "Pombo Sargent Classic" and will take place on Saturday night, June 15. The return to Hanford comes after a long hiatus from the track located in the heart of the California farming region.

In 2013, 111 different drivers earned points in the traveling Civil War Series. The Civil War series is proud to carry numerous contingency sponsors that will be detailed as the season nears. Inquiries for title and associate sponsorship of this very visible series are also being entertained for interested parties that would like to see their business or product well represented in local media and advertising for the 14 race tour.
