Bill Sullivan Nominated for National Award
-
ROSEVILLE, CA (12-13-10) - Handy Racing Promotions is pleased to announce that Bill Sullivan, Communications Director for the Civil War Series and Placerville Speedway announcer, has been nominated as Media Member of the Year in the North American 360 Sprint Car Poll. His nomination was unveiled earlier this week. Sullivan is nominated with Allan Holland, who runs the popular website www.hoseheads.com, and Lonnie Wheatley, media for American Sprint Car Series. "This was quite a surprise when I read the nominations. To be placed in the top three candidates within the company of some of the nations' most recognized media personalities is an honor," said Sullivan.

The North American 360 Sprint Car Poll is the only merit we have in the sprint car community to recognize people who are deserving of special awards in the media relations field. Voting is allowed for only members on the committee. The results of the final ballots will be released in earlier January during the Midget Chili Bowl in Tulsa, OK.

Sullivan not only handles Media Relations for Handy Racing Promotions but is also the media relations representative for the San Francisco based Golden Gate Racing Team, a competitive team supported by Richard Childress Racing that competes in the NASCAR K&N; Pro Series West that fields drivers such as Michael Self, Ty Dillon, Jason Bowles and more. Sullivan, a Placerville resident, is very involved in his local community work. He is instrumental in the Al Hinds Barbeque, Community Outreach program and the speedway's involvement with the local Christmas parade.

The ballot is conducted by Bob Baker, Executive Director of the Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Knoxville, Iowa. Other title nominations include 360 Driver of the Year, Promoter of the Year, Race Team of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to the Sport of Sprint Car Racing.

Look for Handy Racing Promotions to release their 2011 racing schedules for the Hoosier Tire Civil War Series, Placerville Speedway and Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico in early January. For more information please visit www.handyracingpromotions.com
